The Water Tower Nassau Bahamas

Photograph of Water Tower NassauThe Water Tower, off Prison Lane just across the way from Fort Fincastle, is the highest point on the island, just at the top of the Queen's Staircase. You’ll take either a small rickety elevator or a long and winding staircase to the top of the tower, a spot that offers one of the finest views on the island. To the north are the cruise ship docks. To the west, Cable Beach and fancy-colored resort hotels; to the east lies Paradise Island; and to the south, Nassau. If you’re lucky, there may be an unofficial guide at the top of the tower. He’ll point out and comment about the attractions you see. For his service, he’ll expect a tip. You can give a dollar, if you like; it’s well worth it.
